About
In 2025, the Hill Country Community Theatre proudly celebrates its 40th season of bringing live theatre to the Texas Hill Country. What began in 1985 at a cocktail party in Horseshoe Bay—hosted by founders GiGi Fischer and Phyl Holbert—has grown into a thriving cultural hub, presenting more than 200 productions and special events to date.
HCCT’s mission is to entertain, educate, and engage the community through quality theatre and cultural arts programs. Each year, the theatre welcomes over 7,000 patrons, drawing audiences, performers, and volunteers from across the region. Its intimate 146-seat venue in Cottonwood Shores, purchased and renovated by dedicated supporters in the early years, continues to host a vibrant season of comedies, dramas, musicals, and special events.
Education and outreach remain at the heart of HCCT. The annual two-week summer theatre camp for ages 8–17 introduces students to all aspects of theatre, with scholarships available to ensure accessibility. High school drama students often join mainstage productions, and scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors pursuing performing arts.
HCCT’s success is built on the passion of its volunteers, the vision of its leaders, and the generosity of its donors. As we celebrate 40 years of creativity, laughter, and connection, we honor all who have helped sustain live theatre in the Hill Country—and look forward to many more seasons of storytelling together.
